Research Assistant – Vancouver Stroke Program

About the role

The University of British Columbia is seeking a Research Assistant to join the Vancouver Stroke Program (VSP) at the Diamond Health Care Centre, Vancouver General Hospital. The role supports an observational and epidemiological study focused on stroke prevention and secondary prevention.

Key responsibilities

• Review patient charts and extract relevant data for the study.
• Collect, enter, and maintain data in the study database with high accuracy.
• Ensure confidentiality and secure handling of all patient and study records.
• Coordinate and submit documentation to obtain necessary internal and external approvals.
• Assist with day‑to‑day operations of the research program, including scheduling and communication with clinicians, patients, and families.
• Support the Stroke Prevention Clinic by facilitating interactions between research and clinical teams.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage large volumes of data accurately.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for daily interactions with clinicians, patients, and research staff.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, interdisciplinary environment.
