Research Assistant – Vaccine Evaluation Centre

About the role

Conducts a wide range of tasks related to clinical research fieldwork, data handling and laboratory work, supporting vaccine evaluation studies at the UBC Hospital Site.

Key responsibilities

• Provide quality‑control monitoring for data collection, ensuring compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines and preparing databases for statistical analysis.
• Review patient charts, determine eligibility, obtain medical histories and obtain informed consent for study participants, often at off‑site clinics.
• Create and maintain source documents, case report forms and custom‑designed tracking databases following SOPs.
• Develop user manuals, document database structures and perform logical checks, queries and edits to ensure data integrity.
• Provide technical guidance and training to other research assistants and assist with study setup and wind‑down.

Required profile

• Completion of a relevant technical program or university degree with a minimum of three years related experience.
• Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion and willingness to respect diverse perspectives.
