Research Assistant – Pediatric Vaccine Effectiveness Study

About the role

The Sabhaney Lab at UBC's Faculty of Medicine is seeking a Research Assistant to support a multi‑center surveillance project evaluating pediatric vaccine effectiveness and safety in the BC Children’s Hospital Emergency Department.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and enter data from multiple sources into the study’s REDCap database.
• Perform data validation, cleaning, and summarization for a large project dataset.
• Assist the Research Coordinator in implementing and enforcing study protocols, including eligibility determination and procedural troubleshooting.
• Maintain and update lists, databases, tables, and charts; prepare correspondence, presentations, and quarterly reports.
• Communicate with local research teams to resolve issues and ensure smooth project operations.
• Perform other related duties as required.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to work within defined guidelines.
• Good judgment for prioritising tasks and escalating unusual problems.
• Commitment to ethical conduct, accurate data recording, and participant confidentiality.

Required skills

• Experience with REDCap for data entry and management.
