Research Assistant – OBIM (0.5 FTE)

About the role

The Chan Laboratory in the Division of General Internal Medicine is seeking a part‑time Research Assistant (OBIM) to support ongoing clinical research projects. This 0.5 FTE term appointment (approximately 18.75 hours per week) combines on‑site work two days a week with a half‑day of remote work.

Key responsibilities

• Enter and verify study data in Excel and REDCap, performing routine accuracy checks.
• Screen study forms and participant information for errors, flagging issues for follow‑up.
• Send participant reminders via text or email and maintain detailed communication logs.
• Prepare, format, and assemble study documents such as consent forms, logs, and case report forms.
• Label, organize, and file study documents in compliance with protocol and ethics requirements.
• Track research equipment, manage check‑in/check‑out records, and maintain supply inventories.

Required profile

• Ability to work under general supervision while demonstrating initiative, accuracy, and strong organizational skills.
• Comfort interacting with patients/participants, healthcare providers, and administrative staff.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow standard operating procedures.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Experience using REDCap for data capture.
• Data entry and document preparation.
• Equipment labeling and inventory tracking.
