Research Assistant

About the role

The Department of Bioresource Engineering at McGill University is seeking a part‑time Research Assistant to support ongoing projects. The role involves assisting graduate and undergraduate students with laboratory and field activities while ensuring equipment remains in optimal condition.

Key responsibilities

• Provide hands‑on assistance to students during lab experiments and field data collection.
• Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment and instruments.
• Prepare reagents, samples, and documentation required for research protocols.
• Assist the principal investigator with data entry, sample tracking, and routine administrative tasks.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) degree.
• Relevant experience with the principal investigator’s current research projects.
• Eligibility to work in Canada and willingness to work on the McGill campus in Quebec.
• Proficiency in English communication, both written and verbal.

• Hourly compensation of $32.92 CAD.
