Research Assistant – Cardiac Surgery Research

About the role

The Research Assistant will support the Cardiac Surgery Research Program within the Centre for Cardiovascular Innovation at UBC. This role focuses on clinical outcomes research, providing essential data management and administrative assistance to ensure the smooth operation of research projects.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and update project databases, including data entry and report generation.
• Assist with formatting and preparing project lists, posters, and manuscript drafts.
• Support the preparation of research grant applications by gathering documentation and performing basic formatting.
• Collaborate with principal investigators and the Senior Manager of Research Operations to meet project timelines.
• Perform other related duties as required, adhering to established policies and procedures.

Required profile

• High school graduation with at least one year of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, exercising sound judgment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage time‑sensitive tasks.

Required skills

• Proficiency in electronic data entry and database management.
• Basic formatting skills for documents, posters, and manuscripts.
