Research Assistant 3 – Health Education Scholarship

About the role

The Centre for Health Education Scholarship (CHES) at the University of British Columbia seeks a Research Assistant 3 to support a project investigating the lived experience of loneliness and isolation among students in medicine, nursing, occupational therapy and physical therapy programs. The role involves close collaboration with the Principal Investigator and co‑investigators to advance qualitative research activities.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with qualitative research tasks, including revising study instruments, facilitating body‑mapping sessions, conducting interviews, and coordinating data collection.
• Manage data transcription, organize datasets, and perform qualitative analysis using appropriate software.
• Conduct literature searches, summarize findings, and prepare literature review documents.
• Foster effective communication within the research team and with external stakeholders to ensure timely project progress.
• Support the preparation and dissemination of results by drafting research reports, PowerPoint presentations, and manuscript sections.

Required profile

• Ability to work under the guidance of the Principal Investigator and collaborate with co‑investigators.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for managing multiple data sources.
• Excellent written communication for preparing reports and presentations.

Required skills

• Experience with qualitative research methods and data analysis software.
• Proficiency in literature searching and academic summarization.
• Competence in conducting interviews and managing participant recruitment.
