Remote System Administrator – Federal Government (NCR)

About the role

Maplesoft Group is seeking a senior‑level System Administrator to support a Federal Government client in the National Capital Region. The role is fully remote and focuses on stabilising existing infrastructure while driving major migration and modernisation initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Linux/RHEL environments across bare‑metal, virtualised and cloud platforms.
• Perform installation, patching, troubleshooting, automation and security hardening tasks.
• Support data‑centre relocation, cloud migration, hardware refresh and overall infrastructure modernisation.
• Implement and manage monitoring and configuration‑management solutions.
• Develop runbooks, validation procedures and rollback plans for migration activities.
• Collaborate with application teams and external data‑centre providers, maintaining thorough documentation.

Required profile

• Extensive senior‑level Linux administration experience (RHEL/Unix).
• Strong background in infrastructure troubleshooting and support.
• Hands‑on experience with virtualization and cloud environments.
• Proven track record of supporting large‑scale migrations and operational transitions.
• Excellent documentation and change‑management practices.
