Remote M&A Attorney (Contract)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Corporate/M&A Attorney to join our team on a contract basis. The role is fully remote and involves 10‑40 hours per week, focusing on reviewing complex corporate and financial documents while ensuring compliance with data privacy standards.

Key responsibilities

• Review, analyze, and annotate corporate, M&A, and financial documents for compliance and data privacy.
• Identify and mitigate Personally Identifiable Information (PII) exposure, documenting best practices for anonymization.
• Provide guidance on structural identifiability of content to balance compliance with data utility.
• Support creation of training materials reflecting current regulatory frameworks in M&A and corporate law.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to improve data processing protocols and reduce re‑identification risks.
• Deliver detailed written and verbal feedback to enhance legal content interpretation for AI training.

Required profile

• Minimum experience with PII compliance in financial or corporate environments.
• Demonstrated expertise in mergers & acquisitions, sensitive document handling, and data privacy regulation.
• Ability to identify direct and structural PII risks in corporate documentation.
• Meticulous attention to detail and a strong commitment to compliance.
• Proven experience drafting, reviewing, and revising legal documents related to financial transactions and corporate governance.
