Remote Lawyer – Contract (Legal Artifact Expert)

About the role

Mercor is seeking an experienced lawyer to work remotely on a contract basis. You will act as a legal artifact expert, creating and refining high‑quality legal documents for AI research labs and other clients.

Key responsibilities

• Review existing legal documents and provide detailed, constructive feedback.
• Draft original legal artifacts from scratch, including contracts, memoranda, and briefs.
• Annotate and comment on artifacts to improve structure, reasoning, and legal rigor.
• Apply legal expertise to ensure outputs are realistic and professional.
• Work independently and asynchronously, delivering consistent, high‑quality work on a flexible schedule.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of professional legal experience as a practicing lawyer or attorney.
• Bar admission in any jurisdiction.
• Background in litigation, corporate, transactional, regulatory, contracts, IP, or general counsel work.
• Strong written communication and meticulous attention to detail.
• Self‑directed with the ability to meet deadlines on a flexible schedule.
