Registered Practical Nurse – Physical Support Unit (Apotex 2)

About the role

Baycrest Hospital is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to join the Apotex 2 Physical Support Unit. This temporary, part‑time position supports older adults with frailty and physical conditions, helping them maintain independence and quality of life.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with RN to plan, deliver, and evaluate nursing interventions, including medication administration within RPN scope.
• Provide client‑centred care as part of an interdisciplinary team, addressing personal care, activation, recreation, and spiritual needs.
• Conduct client assessments and contribute to individualized care plans.
• Assist residents with mobility, pain management, activities of daily living, and emotional health.

Required profile

• Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) and AED certification.
• Experience in long‑term care or community settings preferred.
• Psychogeriatric experience and dementia‑care certification are advantageous.

Required skills

• Basic computer skills, including MDS/RAI.
• Proficiency with Point Click Care software.
• Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
