Registered Nurse – OR Circulator (Full-Time)

About the role

This full‑time position is for a Registered Nurse serving as an Operating Room (OR) Circulator. The nurse will provide comprehensive patient care throughout the pre‑operative, intra‑operative and post‑operative phases of surgical procedures, ensuring safety, efficiency and adherence to nursing standards.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver patient care using the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Assess physiological and psychosocial health status, pain levels, and complete patient histories.
• Communicate pertinent information to the surgical team and document accurately in patient records.
• Establish nursing diagnoses, set patient‑family goals, and develop individualized care plans.
• Implement care plans, respond to emergencies, and adjust plans based on ongoing assessment.
• Perform pre‑operative communication, surgical case counting, aseptic technique, and efficient turnover.
• Handle blood products, verify patient identity, and ensure correct surgical site marking.
• Anticipate surgeon needs and support the surgical team throughout procedures.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with a current Registered Nurse license.
• Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Knowledge of nursing standards, JCAHO regulations, Patient Bill of Rights, and the Nurse Practice Act.
• Ability to assess, problem‑solve, and adjust care plans based on patient data.
• Physical capacity to stand, walk, lift up to 50 lb, and perform other demands of an OR environment.
