Registered Nurse – Lodge 7 (Maternity Leave Cover)

About the role

The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide coverage for a maternity‑leave absence in Lodge 7 at Deer Lodge Centre. This is a fixed‑term, 0.70 FTE position running from 17 July 2026 to 29 December 2027, with day, night and weekend shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver independent nursing care, including administration of prescribed medical treatments.
• Lead and coordinate the health‑care team, directing nurses, students, aides and support staff.
• Collaborate with physicians and other health professionals both on‑site and in the community.
• Ensure compliance with health‑safety regulations, use of personal protective equipment, and report any incidents or hazards.
• Facilitate patient/resident discharge planning and continuity of care.

Required profile

• Graduate of an approved Registered Nursing program.
• Active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba.
• Experience with chronic illness, geriatrics and complex continuing care.
• Canadian Nurses Association certification preferred.
• Active participation in professional associations (e.g., ARNM) preferred.

Required skills

• Knowledge of the Personal Health Information Act (PHIA), WHMIS and Universal Precautions.
• Familiarity with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba Standards of Practice.
• Ability to use personal protective equipment safely.
