Registered Nurse – Labour & Delivery (Part‑Time)

About the role

Joseph Brant Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse to join its Labour & Delivery unit on a regular part‑time basis. The role involves providing safe, compassionate care to mothers and newborns while supporting families throughout the birthing process.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor maternal and fetal health during labor using appropriate surveillance equipment.
• Assist with vaginal and cesarean deliveries, ensuring adherence to clinical protocols.
• Provide newborn assessment and immediate post‑delivery care, including neonatal resuscitation when required.
• Educate patients and families on breastfeeding, postpartum recovery, and newborn care.
• Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and allied health professionals in a multidisciplinary team.
• Respond promptly to emergency situations and maintain accurate documentation.

Required profile

• Current Ontario RN registration and Certificate of Competence.
• Certification in Fetal Health Surveillance (Canadian) and Neonatal Resuscitation.
• Recent (within two years) experience in Maternal‑Child nursing; preference for labour and delivery experience.
• Perinatal certificate or equivalent and Breastfeeding certificate preferred.
• Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and commitment to patient safety.
