Registered Nurse – Inpatient Harm Reduction (Part‑time Casual)

About the role

Casey House is seeking two Registered Nurses to join its inpatient team on a part‑time casual basis. The role involves 12‑hour shifts in a 24‑hour staffed, modern facility that provides holistic care for people living with or at risk of HIV.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to 14 in‑patients with complex medical, psychiatric and substance‑use needs.
• Deliver care using a harm‑reduction, anti‑oppressive, social‑justice and trauma‑informed framework.
• Collaborate daily with physicians, allied health professionals and students to develop and evaluate care plans.
• Participate in quality‑improvement initiatives, infection‑prevention practices and adherence to best‑practice guidelines.
• Support a safe, inclusive environment that respects diversity and promotes equity.
• Provide direct care including palliative care, advanced wound care, post‑surgical recovery, cancer care, rehabilitation and mental‑health support.

Required profile

• Current registration as a Nurse in Canada.
• Willingness to work 12‑hour shifts, both days and nights, up to 60 hours bi‑weekly.
• Ability to work on‑site in a fully staffed hospital environment.
• Commitment to the values of harm reduction, anti‑oppression and trauma‑informed care.
