Registered Nurse – General Surgery (Day/Night)

About the role

The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join the General Surgical unit at Grace Hospital. The RN will provide professional nursing care to patients with complex and unpredictable health needs, working both day and night shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver independent nursing services and administer prescribed medical treatments.
• Lead and coordinate the healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care and discharge planning.
• Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to unit policies, procedures, and provincial regulations.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and uphold the region’s vision and values.

Required profile

• Current surgical nursing experience preferred.
• Graduate of an approved Registered Nursing program; post‑basic program may be required.
• Valid registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM) and up‑to‑date CPR certification.
• Demonstrated critical‑thinking, problem‑solving, and effective communication skills.

Required skills

• CPR certification.
• Registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba.
• Knowledge of Manitoba nursing standards, Canadian Nurses Association Code of Ethics, and relevant health legislation (PHIA, WHMIS, etc.).
