Registered Nurse – Ambulatory Endoscopy Services (Part‑Time)

About the role

The Registered Nurse will join the Ambulatory Services – Endoscopy Program in Markdale, providing comprehensive nursing care to patients throughout the endoscopy journey. This part‑time position supports pre‑procedure, intra‑procedure, and post‑procedure phases, ensuring safety, comfort, and high‑quality outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver direct nursing care before, during, and after endoscopic procedures.
• Collaborate with physicians, endoscopy staff, and the integrated care team to coordinate patient care.
• Monitor patient status, respond to emergencies, and document care according to clinical standards.
• Maintain compliance with ORNAC standards and Brightshores safety policies.
• Participate in continuous professional development and departmental quality initiatives.

Required profile

• Current registration or eligibility for registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Successful completion of a peri‑operative nursing certificate OR an AORN endoscopy certificate, or at least one year of endoscopy experience within the past two years with a commitment to obtain certification within one year.
• Ability to work flexibly across all phases of the endoscopy program.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including electronic documentation.
• Demonstrated problem‑solving, decision‑making, and leadership abilities.
