Registered Early Childhood Educator (Full‑Time)

About the role

Wasauksing First Nation’s Little Eagle Child Care Centre is seeking a Registered Early Childhood Educator to join its licensed child‑care team. The role involves creating a safe, nurturing and stimulating learning environment for children aged 6 months to 12 years, working collaboratively with staff, families and the community.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, implement and review early learning experiences in line with the Centre’s philosophy and goals.
• Provide supervision and guidance across a balance of active/quiet, indoor/outdoor, and individual/group activities.
• Design learning experiences that promote problem‑solving, independence, skill mastery, self‑esteem and confidence.
• Assess children’s developmental levels and coordinate with external agencies as needed.
• Document children’s activities through photos, displays, portfolios and videos.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of classroom equipment, toys, materials and play areas.
• Participate in parent engagement activities and promote the Centre’s programs.

Required profile

• Early Childhood Educator Diploma or equivalent (Child Studies degree).
• First Aid and CPR certification.
• Knowledge of Ministry of Education pedagogy “How Does Learning Happen” and Duty to Report.
• Excellent organizational, time‑management and classroom‑management skills.
• Proficient verbal and written communication.
• Reliable transportation and ability to obtain a vulnerable sector check.
• RECE member number (asset) and registration with the College of Early Childhood Educators (asset).
• Familiarity with Anishnaabe customs and traditions (asset).
