Registered Early Childhood Educator – Before & After School

About the role

We are looking for a dynamic, highly motivated Registered Early Childhood Educator to join our Before and After School program. You will work as part of a team to create a positive learning environment that supports children’s emotional, social, cognitive and physical development.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, plan, promote, implement and evaluate daily program operations with supervisory support.
• Design and deliver programming aligned with the Ministry of Education’s “How Does Learning Happen?” framework and the “Tools for Life” program.
• Create and maintain a safe, responsive learning environment that meets the interests and needs of each child.
• Provide quality, play‑based learning and supervision for all children in care.
• Ensure compliance with licensing requirements and program standards.
• Welcome and support clients from diverse cultural backgrounds, newcomers, LGBTQ2S+ individuals, young parents, and others.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Early Childhood Education and registration with the College of Early Childhood Educators.
• Minimum two years’ experience working with school‑age children and their families.
• Experience in a Before and After School setting, collaborating with parents and community partners.
• Thorough knowledge of the Child Care and Early Years Act (2014) and related legislation.
• Current certifications in First Aid/CPR, Safe Food Handling and Non‑Violent Crisis Intervention.

Required skills

• First Aid/CPR certification.
• Safe Food Handling certification.
• Non‑Violent Crisis Intervention (N.V.C.I.) training.
