About the role

The Regional Medical Director for Western Canada will lead veterinary medical excellence across multiple hospitals in Alberta. Based in Calgary, you will split your time between hands‑on clinical practice (three days a week) and regional leadership, mentoring DVMs, supporting clinic operations, and driving consistent, high‑quality patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership and direct patient care in a Calgary‑based practice (3 days/week).
• Travel up to 40% of the time to visit and support veterinary hospitals throughout Western Canada.
• Coach and mentor DVMs and veterinary teams, fostering professional development.
• Collaborate with the National Medical Director and Regional Operations leadership to align standards of care and operational goals.
• Assist hospitals in achieving sustainable results while maintaining exceptional patient outcomes.
• Observe clinic workflows, offer feedback, and help implement best‑practice protocols.

Required profile

• Licensed DVM with solid clinical experience.
• Demonstrated leadership or mentorship experience within a veterinary setting.
• Strong commitment to advancing patient care and veterinary standards.
• Willingness to travel approximately 40% across the region.
• Ability to balance hands‑on clinical duties with regional strategic responsibilities.
