Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic – Saskatoon

About the role

Sandvik Mining is looking for a Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic to join its Field Service team in Saskatoon. The role involves maintaining, repairing and commissioning surface mining equipment to ensure optimal performance for our customers.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect equipment, diagnose faults and determine required repairs.
• Adjust, repair or replace defective parts, components or systems according to work orders.
• Test repaired equipment to verify proper operation.
• Commission new machinery and provide training at customer sites.
• Complete accurate time records, technical and failure reports, and parts lists.
• Participate in continuous‑improvement initiatives and stay current with industry developments.
• Follow all health, safety and environmental policies, conduct risk assessments and maintain a clean work area.

Required profile

• Relevant trade certification; Red Seal designation is an asset.
• Minimum three years experience working on mining equipment.
• Experience with equipment commissioning and troubleshooting.
• Ability to read and interpret hydraulic and electrical schematics.
• Common Core training is considered an asset.
