Recruiter – Technical & AI Talent Acquisition

About the role

Huawei Canada is seeking a Recruiter on a 12‑month contract to lead talent acquisition for technical and research positions, especially in AI and software development. The role partners with hiring managers and the Human Resources Department to attract, assess, and onboard top candidates.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute recruitment strategies for AI, software and other technical roles.
• Source candidates through professional networks, online platforms, industry events and academic institutions.
• Screen resumes, conduct initial interviews and coordinate with hiring managers throughout the selection process.
• Build and maintain relationships with universities, research institutions and professional communities to create talent pipelines.
• Track recruitment metrics, report hiring progress and manage the candidate experience from contact through onboarding.

Required profile

• Delivers high‑quality results with minimal supervision and maintains a positive, collaborative attitude.
• Quickly builds relationships with hard‑to‑find candidates and demonstrates a proactive, “can‑do” mindset.
• Strong negotiation abilities and confidence in recruitment skills.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite and experienced managing multiple open vacancies.
• Results‑oriented, passionate about talent acquisition and knowledgeable about industry best practices.
