Quantitative Data Analyst – Fixed‑Term (12 months)

About the role

The Faculty of Social Work is seeking a Quantitative Data Analyst for a 12‑month fixed‑term contract funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research. The analyst will support the development and validation of a Learning Health System for Kickstand‑Alberta’s Integrated Youth Service, covering the full data lifecycle from collection to reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement accessible data‑collection processes that are culturally safe and youth‑friendly.
• Develop and maintain data pipelines and extraction tools for the Kickstand Common Data Platform (KCDP) and other sources.
• Perform data cleaning, validation, and integration to ensure high‑quality individual, family, and system‑level datasets.
• Create user‑friendly dashboards and visualisations for real‑time reporting.
• Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement in data workflows.
• Provide change‑management support to staff and cross‑functional teams adopting new data practices.
• Collaborate with researchers, community partners, practitioners, and individuals with lived experience.
• Support the Principal Investigator with ongoing research and administrative tasks.

Required profile

• Degree in statistics, epidemiology, data science, public health, or a related quantitative field.
• Experience managing quantitative data in health, social services, or research settings.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Understanding of culturally safe and youth‑centred research practices.
