Quality Engineer – Payments & Core Banking

About the role

Scotiabank is seeking a Quality Engineer to join its Payments & Core Banking Engineering team in Toronto. The role focuses on building and maintaining automated test suites that ensure the reliability and security of modern payment platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of automated test frameworks.
• Debug and enhance test automation code to meet high‑quality standards.
• Document test cases and generate detailed test reports for new software applications.
• Investigate, research, and resolve complex technical issues.
• Collaborate with senior leaders, mentor junior team members, and contribute to strategic problem‑solving.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and drive innovation within the testing team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Extensive experience with one or more programming languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript.
• Strong communication, presentation, and analytical skills.
• Self‑motivated, results‑oriented, and able to work in a fast‑paced environment.
