Quality Control Inspector

About the role

Calian is seeking a Quality Control Inspector to ensure that electronic assemblies, printed circuit boards and wire harnesses meet all customer, contractual, regulatory and internal quality standards. The role supports manufacturing operations by planning inspections, documenting non‑conformances and driving corrective actions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain inspection plans based on product requirements and risk assessments.
• Perform in‑process and final inspections of PCBs, electronic assemblies and wire harnesses.
• Interpret drawings, schematics, bills of materials and test reports to verify compliance.
• Document, track and manage non‑conformances according to established procedures.
• Support root‑cause investigations and corrective‑action implementation.
• Analyze inspection data to identify quality risks and improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Project Management and Quality teams to resolve issues.
• Provide guidance and training to production staff and junior inspectors.
• Assist with internal, customer and regulatory audits and continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Diploma in Electronics Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Technology or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of quality control or inspection experience in an electronics manufacturing environment.
• Experience in aerospace, defence or regulated industries (AS9100) is an asset.
• Strong knowledge of PCB assembly, cable and wire‑harness fabrication and electro‑mechanical assemblies.

Required skills

• Inspection to IPC‑A‑610 and IPC/WHMA‑A‑620 standards.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, engineering drawings and bills of materials.
• Root‑cause analysis and corrective‑action development.
• Continuous‑improvement mindset and data‑driven quality risk assessment.
