Purchasing & Logistics Coordinator

About the role

Advance Wire Products Ltd. (AWP) is seeking a Purchasing & Logistics Coordinator to support day‑to‑day purchasing, logistics and inventory activities for its manufacturing operations in Surrey.

Key responsibilities

• Create, maintain and update purchase orders in the ERP system based on product demand.
• Obtain supplier quotations, compare pricing and evaluate vendor performance.
• Coordinate with Production, Warehouse, Project Coordination and Finance on purchasing requirements.
• Book shipments with approved carriers, track deliveries and manage freight claims.
• Communicate with carriers regarding service issues and handle customs/import‑export documentation.
• Escalate supplier issues and potential production impacts to the Purchasing & Logistics Supervisor.

Required profile

• Post‑secondary degree or diploma in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management or a related field.
• Minimum 1 year of progressive experience in purchasing, procurement, logistics or supply‑chain operations, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of supplier management and strategic sourcing principles.
• Excellent negotiation and relationship‑management abilities.
• Experience with ERP systems (especially Infor) and Microsoft Office applications.
• Familiarity with freight, customs, import/export documentation and Canadian trade compliance.
