Public Board Director – Canadian Investor Protection Fund

About the role

The Canadian Investor Protection Fund (CIPF) is seeking a Public Board Director to join its eleven‑member Board. This non‑executive position provides strategic oversight for the Fund’s two segregated investor‑protection pools and contributes to high‑level governance, risk, and policy decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic guidance and oversight on CIPF’s mission, policies, and long‑term objectives.
• Contribute to board effectiveness in areas such as human resources, communications, and stakeholder engagement.
• Review and challenge risk‑management frameworks, financial performance, and investment‑industry practices.
• Offer insight on emerging technology trends, cybersecurity, data security, and artificial intelligence as they relate to the Fund.
• Represent the Board in interactions with regulators, government bodies, and industry partners.

Required profile

• Seasoned executive with a strong understanding of corporate governance.
• Demonstrated commitment to public service and investor protection.
• Experience in senior leadership roles within complex organisations.
