Project & Process Engineer

About the role

Prana is seeking a Project & Process Engineer to lead capital‑expenditure projects, process improvements and equipment installations across its Montreal manufacturing facility. Reporting to the VP of Operations, the role blends engineering project management with hands‑on support to boost safety, quality and plant performance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead engineering and operational improvement projects from concept through commissioning and handover, defining scope, budget, schedule and risk assessments.
• Coordinate internal stakeholders (Operations, Quality, Maintenance, Planning, R&D) and manage external contractors, suppliers and integrators.
• Identify and drive CAPEX initiatives that increase capacity, efficiency, food safety or product quality, and prepare technical justifications and ROI analyses.
• Support design, installation and optimisation of food‑processing, packaging and utility systems, reviewing drawings, P&IDs and equipment specifications.
• Participate in troubleshooting, root‑cause analysis, FAT/SAT, validation, start‑up and performance verification of new lines.
• Ensure all projects comply with GMP, HACCP, sanitation and food‑safety requirements and incorporate hygienic design principles.

Required profile

Required skills

• CAPEX project management in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of food‑safety standards such as GMP and HACCP.
• Process engineering and equipment commissioning (FAT/SAT).
• Ability to read and review P&IDs, technical drawings and specifications.
• Experience with continuous‑improvement metrics (OEE, waste reduction, downtime minimisation).
