Project Manager – Structural Steel Fabrication

About the role

The Project Manager will lead structural steel fabrication projects from award through delivery and close‑out. Acting as the central hub, you will coordinate clients, engineers, detailing teams, fabricators and subcontractors to ensure safe, on‑time, on‑budget delivery in line with contract requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Manage projects from kickoff to completion, reviewing contracts, drawings and specifications.
• Develop and track schedules, milestones and budgets, ensuring profitability.
• Serve as primary contact for all stakeholders and lead internal coordination meetings.
• Align fabrication schedules, oversee material procurement, and monitor production progress.
• Handle RFIs, submittals, approvals, and change orders with the Engineer of Record.
• Oversee shipping, logistics and cross‑border compliance.
• Ensure quality and compliance with industry standards (CSA, AISC, AWS) and coordinate inspections.
• Identify risks, implement mitigation strategies and resolve technical or contractual issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field (P.Eng. a plus).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in structural steel fabrication or construction project management.
• Proven experience with steel detailing, fabrication processes and erection coordination.
• Strong knowledge of structural steel drawings, specifications and relevant standards.
