Project Manager – Remote (Canada)

About the role

Empire life is seeking a proactive Project Manager to join its Project Management Office. Working remotely from anywhere in Canada, you will lead the full project lifecycle—from initiation through close‑out—supporting key business transformation initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Define project scope, goals and deliverables in partnership with senior leadership and stakeholders.
• Break down work into tasks, estimate resource needs and secure appropriate team members.
• Provide direction, coaching and support to the project team throughout execution.
• Develop and manage the project budget, tracking expenses and reporting regularly.
• Schedule, monitor and report on timelines, milestones and critical path using appropriate tools.
• Identify, assess and mitigate project risks, escalating complex issues when necessary.
• Apply established project management methodology, standards and change‑control processes.
• Set success criteria, manage stakeholder expectations and conduct post‑implementation reviews.

Required profile

• Minimum three years of progressive project management experience, preferably on large‑scale business transformation or IT projects.
• Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams and collaborate with senior management.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
• Experience managing budgets, schedules and project documentation.

Required skills

• Project Management methodologies (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2).
