Project Manager – Rare Ovarian Cancer Collaborative Analytics Platform

About the role

The Gynecologic Cancer Initiative at UBC seeks a highly organized Project Manager to lead the Rare Ovarian Cancer Collaborative Analytics (ROCCA) Platform, a newly funded federated data network advancing research on rare ovarian cancers.

Key responsibilities

• Manage financial administration, set milestones, monitor progress, and prepare budgets and status reports.
• Develop policies and processes for multi‑site data collection and ensure alignment with project goals and timelines.
• Coordinate committees, draft academic reports, presentations, and scientific communications.
• Oversee ethics applications, governance and data‑sharing agreements, and ensure compliance across institutions.
• Identify and develop grant applications, expand international partnerships, and facilitate data harmonization across cohorts.

Required profile

• Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline with at least three years of related experience.
• Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
• Advanced degree (MPH, MS, PhD) or equivalent is preferred.
• Experience in multi‑site biomedical research, data governance, and financial management.

Required skills

• Data governance and data‑use agreements
• Financial management, budgeting, and grant writing
• Data harmonization and federated data systems (e.g., OHDSI, GA4GH)
• Familiarity with data models/ontologies (CDISC, OMOP, SNOMED)
• Project management certification (PMP, PRINCE2) is a plus
