Project Manager – Power Generation

About the role

Black & McDonald’s Power Generation team is expanding and seeks a dedicated Project Manager to lead construction projects from inception to completion. Based in Pickering, you will work closely with the Program Manager to ensure projects meet schedule, specification, and budget requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Define project objectives and develop delivery models, including procurement and contracting strategies.
• Prepare and submit construction budget estimates and detailed schedules with milestones.
• Negotiate and manage contracts with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Monitor project performance (cost, schedule, quality) and produce regular reports for stakeholders.
• Hire, supervise, and coordinate subcontractor activities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Identify risks, review work and contracts, and implement corrective actions.
• Lead project close‑out activities and support transition to operations.
• Maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders and represent the company in business matters.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline; P.Eng and PMP designation preferred.
• 2–8 years of project management experience in nuclear power plant or related construction/industrial projects, preferably in an EPC environment.
• Proven ability to manage low‑risk, low‑complexity projects and oversee project teams.
• Strong leadership, communication, organization, and analytical abilities.
