Project Engineer – New Product Introduction

About the role

We are seeking a results‑driven Project Engineer to lead New Product Introduction (NPI) initiatives for our global kitchenware portfolio. Reporting to the Director of Engineering, NPI, you will coordinate cross‑functional teams to bring innovative products from concept to market while ensuring high standards of performance, aesthetics, and user experience.

Key responsibilities

• Manage product changes and NPI projects through the stage‑gate process.
• Lead multiple fast‑paced projects, coordinating with product management, engineering, sourcing, and overseas factories.
• Develop detailed product specifications in partnership with product development managers.
• Oversee configuration of new parts and projects in PLM and ERP systems.
• Review overseas product reports and ensure timely deliverables.
• Conduct quality investigations and recommend process improvements.
• Support departmental administrative tasks to keep projects on track.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of engineering and product development experience.
• Analytical mindset with strong problem‑solving abilities.
• Experience with consumer‑goods or retailer environments is a plus.
• Membership in the Order of Quebec Engineers (OIQ) is an asset.

Required skills

• Proficiency with PLM and ERP systems.
• Knowledge of product compliance standards (CSA, UL, CE, IEC).
• Experience in stage‑gate project management.
• Electromechanical design of small devices.
• Quality investigation and root‑cause analysis.
