Project Engineer

About the role

You will join Binnie’s Transportation Major Projects Division in Burnaby, providing Owner’s Engineer services for major infrastructure projects across British Columbia. The role offers hands‑on design work from concept through detailed design and construction, with strong mentorship from experienced engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare design drawings using AutoCAD or Civil3D.
• Perform design work in consultation with the Engineer of Record.
• Act as a project field representative to document site observations.
• Review construction records and ensure quality control compliance.
• Prepare reports, manuals, and technical memorandums.
• Assist with contract documentation preparation.
• Coordinate and maintain records of design and construction submittals.
• Ensure designs and calculations adhere to industry standards and Binnie’s quality management policies.

Required profile

• Completed degree in Civil Engineering.
• 0–1+ years of experience in a professional engineering environment.
• Registered as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with EGBC.
• Strong written communication and technical report writing skills.
• Excellent time‑management and ability to handle multiple projects.
• Ability to work cooperatively in a team and maintain high accuracy.
