Project Design Specialist – Turbomachinery

About the role

The Project Design Specialist is a core member of Siemens Energy's mechanical design team, responsible for creating and iterating geometry for gas turbine core components. Working within a multidisciplinary environment, you will follow projects from problem definition through to implementation, ensuring optimized solutions that meet customer and fleet requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse customer needs and fleet reports to define design approaches.
• Collaborate with analytical and manufacturing specialists to develop optimized solutions.
• Leverage existing knowledge to generate efficient design concepts.
• Assess how design decisions impact project and technical risk.
• Participate in validation and verification activities as designs move toward production.
• Contribute to root‑cause analysis for field failures related to your specialized components.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec.
• Motivation to work in a multi‑disciplinary mechanical design team.
• Interest in gas turbine technology and its role in the energy transition.
• Fluency in English; ability to work in a French‑speaking environment.
• Preferably experience in turbine airfoil design and knowledge of related manufacturing processes.
