Project & Control Engineer/Officer

About the role

Ontario Power Generation is seeking a dynamic Project & Control Engineer/Officer to lead critical project controls activities across major hydroelectric projects. You will work onsite in Niagara Falls, collaborating with engineering, construction, and finance teams to deliver data‑driven insights that support successful project execution.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage project schedules and budgets using Primavera P6, MS Project, and Excel.
• Support front‑end planning, including scope definition, risk assessments, estimating, and workshop facilitation.
• Monitor project performance, provide cost and schedule updates, variance analysis, and forecasts.
• Maintain baselines, assess change impacts, and ensure plans reflect approved changes.
• Create dashboards, data visualizations, and reports with Excel and BI tools.
• Partner with engineering, construction, finance, and external contractors to gather inputs and align forecasts.
• Contribute to continuous‑improvement initiatives and data‑driven decision‑making.

Required profile

• 4‑year bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering or related field.
• PMP designation preferred.
• 6–8 years of experience in project management or controls on large, complex projects (nuclear, hydroelectric, or thermal).
• Advanced proficiency with Primavera P6 for planning and scheduling.
• Expert‑level Microsoft Excel skills.
