Project Assistant – Construction Operations

About the role

Valard Construction is seeking a Project Assistant to support its Transmission Operations team in Thunder Bay. This fixed‑term position runs from July 2026 to July 2027 and follows a 20‑day on / 8‑day off rotational schedule on‑site.

Key responsibilities

• Financial & procurement support: process AR/AP, review invoices, manage purchase orders and expense reports.
• Timesheet support: verify accuracy and enter data into Valard’s payroll system.
• Travel coordination: arrange flights, accommodations and shuttle services.
• IT requests: assist on‑site staff with technical issues and submit service tickets.
• Report preparation: collect, enter and distribute daily, weekly and monthly data.
• General administrative duties and participation in Valard safety programs.
• Document control: maintain hard‑copy binders and update foremen binders with new drawings.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of experience in a similar project support role.
• At least 2 years in an administrative capacity.
• Knowledge of material management and purchasing processes.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
