Program Area Leader – Recreation (Part‑Time)

Looking for a fun and truly meaningful job? BGC Okanagan is hiring a part‑time Program Area Leader to support recreation programs for children, youth, and families at its Vernon club, offering the chance to make a meaningful difference every day.

Key responsibilities

• Plans and implements activities and special events for a program.
• Oversees day‑to‑day operation, ensuring facilities, equipment, guidelines, policies, standards and licensing requirements are met.
• Makes recommendations on program development, policy, procedure formulation and evaluation.
• Promotes public awareness and support by producing promotional materials and attending community events.
• Liaises with community service providers and professionals to coordinate services, facilitate referrals and represent the organization.
• Maintains records, statistics and produces required reports.

Required profile

• A diploma, certificate and/or relevant experience working with children in recreation, education or other social services.
• Valid First Aid certificate.
• 20 Hours Responsible Adult training or willingness to obtain.
• Class 4 Driver’s Licence or willingness to obtain it immediately.
• Successful completion of agency screening, including a criminal record check.
• Must be at least 19 years of age as per provincial licensing regulations.
