Profit & Loss Controller – Global Markets

About the role

We are looking for a Profit & Loss (P&L) Controller to join the Product Control team within the IT & Operations department of a leading international bank in Montreal. The role supports the Global Markets and ALMT businesses across New York, Mexico and Montreal, producing daily P&L and explanatory reports for multiple trading desks.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, supervise and reconcile daily and monthly P&L statements against trader estimates and financial accounts.
• Analyse and report P&L with detailed Greek breakdowns for futures, options, interest‑rate derivatives and structured products.
• Reconcile P&L to front‑office estimates, resolve PV breaks and ensure pricing configurations align with trading strategies and internal controls.
• Collaborate with Front Office, Trade Support, Market Risk, Finance, IT and Risk teams to address operational, booking and valuation issues.
• Validate month‑end P&L, map and reserves at the trading‑book level and provide commentary using analytical tools.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of product lifecycles, trade booking and valuation processes.
• Ability to build effective relationships with Front Office and middle‑office functions.
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail and ability to explain key P&L drivers.

Required skills

• Experience with P&L analysis and reconciliation for derivatives and structured products.
• Familiarity with Greek calculations and PV break resolution.
• Proficiency in using analytical and reporting tools for financial data.
