Production Planner

About the role

The Production Planner will translate customer orders and sales forecasts into detailed production schedules for ABB's Electrification, Installation Products division in Montreal. You will ensure planning accuracy, manage material availability, and optimise equipment and workforce utilisation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop optimized production schedules for assigned cells based on forecasts, order priorities, workforce and equipment capacity.
• Adjust plans quickly in response to new information from Sales, Customer Service and Operations.
• Communicate daily production issues to stakeholders and flag potential inventory shortages.
• Manage procurement of components, monitor supplier orders and recommend corrective actions for delays.
• Prepare production reports and track key performance indicators.
• Identify and implement improvements to planning tools and processes.

Required profile

• College diploma or university degree in Operations, Logistics, Supply Chain or Business Management.
• 3–5 years of experience in production planning, procurement, inventory or supply‑chain roles within manufacturing.
• Bilingual in French and English (English required for external customers).
• Strong attention to detail, independent decision‑making and ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Adaptable to a fast‑paced, evolving environment and able to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
