Production Operator – Heavy Industrial Facility

About the role

The Production Operator supports the day‑to‑day operations of Stelco’s Lake Erie Works plant. You will handle, transport and process raw materials and finished product across various production units while maintaining strict safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform general labour tasks such as shovelling, lifting, climbing and working in confined spaces.
• Operate overhead cranes, forklifts, tractors and other heavy equipment to move materials.
• Transport product and material between work areas and assist with processing operations.
• Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment at all times.
• Work in diverse environmental conditions (hot, cold, noisy, wet, dirty) as required.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
• High school diploma or post‑secondary education.
• Valid driver’s licence and personal vehicle for site access.
• Ability to work in a unionised, highly industrial environment.
• Capacity to tolerate extreme temperatures and respond quickly to process upsets.
