Production Assembler – Heavy Equipment

About the role

Sandvik’s Winnipeg ITH Center of Excellence is seeking an entry‑level Production Assembler to join its heavy‑equipment manufacturing team. You will help build underground mining drills and support units, gaining hands‑on experience with mechanical, hydraulic and electrical components.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble and sub‑assemble machine modules, including cabins, electrical and hydraulic systems.
• Perform visual inspections of incoming materials to verify quality and compliance.
• Use hand and power tools to fit, fasten and secure parts according to specifications.
• Interpret schematics, blueprints and technical drawings to guide assembly work.
• Identify defective items and follow established procedures for handling them.
• Follow standard operating procedures, safety guidelines and instructions from engineering or management.
• Participate in on‑the‑job training and continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Willingness to learn equipment manufacturing processes and technical documentation.
• Basic knowledge of hand tools, fasteners and mechanical fittings.
• Ability to work safely in a team environment and follow safety protocols.
• Interest in developing a career in heavy‑equipment production.
