Produce Department Manager

About the role

We are looking for a dynamic Produce Department Manager to lead our Winnipeg store’s produce section. You will be responsible for driving sales, ensuring product quality, and delivering an exceptional shopping experience for our customers.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the produce department, ensuring it meets sales and profitability targets.
• Train, coach and develop associates in customer service, product knowledge and merchandising standards.
• Maintain appropriate stock levels, pricing, and attractive product displays.
• Monitor inventory and coordinate replenishment with other departments.
• Ensure a clean, safe environment for customers and staff.
• Manage departmental expenses and assist with budget preparation.
• Communicate regularly with store management and other department managers to align with overall store goals.
• Identify and recruit talent to strengthen the team.
• Promote an inclusive workplace that values diversity and belonging.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework preferred.
• Previous retail management experience, preferably in a departmental or specialty store.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lb and stand for extended periods.

Required skills

• Proficiency with basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office.
