Procurement Specialist I

About the role

Altasciences is seeking a Procurement Specialist I to support the acquisition of laboratory supplies, raw materials, equipment, and services essential to biotech operations. The role ensures timely delivery, regulatory compliance, and cost‑effective sourcing.

Key responsibilities

• Support sourcing activities for laboratory supplies, raw materials, equipment, and services.
• Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers in compliance with GMP, FDA, and ISO standards.
• Assist in negotiating pricing, contracts, and service‑level agreements.
• Process purchase requisitions and generate accurate purchase orders.
• Maintain continuity of supply for critical research, development, and manufacturing materials.
• Track orders, resolve discrepancies, and coordinate with vendors on delivery or quality issues.
• Perform initial contract reviews to ensure alignment with company policies and regulations.
• Maintain accurate sourcing and contract records in procurement systems.
• Analyze spend data to identify cost‑saving opportunities and support budgeting.
• Prepare reports and dashboards for leadership reviews.
• Collaborate with R&D, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, and Finance teams.
• Contribute to process improvements and supplier performance initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in procurement or sourcing.
