Procurement Specialist – Continuous Improvement

About the role

WestJet is looking for a Procurement Specialist to lead continuous‑improvement initiatives across its procurement, contracting and supply‑chain functions. Reporting to the Director of Procurement Process & Strategy, you will apply Lean methods, map value streams and optimise systems to drive efficiency, transparency and value.

Key responsibilities

• Apply Lean methodology to identify inefficiencies, eliminate waste and improve procurement and supply‑chain processes.
• Develop and maintain value‑stream maps, process documentation, playbooks and SOPs.
• Assess process and system gaps, recommend and implement enhancements to improve functionality and user experience.
• Administer procurement systems (including Coupa), manage workflows, supplier data and system configurations.
• Create reporting and dashboards to support data‑driven decision‑making.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to resolve issues and optimise end‑to‑end procure‑to‑pay cycles.
• Develop a 1‑, 3‑ and 5‑year roadmap for procurement capabilities and support related business cases.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management or related field (Master’s preferred).
• 5–8 years of experience driving continuous‑improvement and process excellence in procurement, sourcing, contracting or supply‑chain roles.
• Formal Lean education and certification; trainer experience is a plus.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.
