Process Operations Technician (Operator)

About the role

We are looking for a Process Operations Technician (Operator) to join Evonik’s production team. The role can be performed on a rotating 12‑hour shift or an 8‑hour day schedule, supporting safe and efficient operation of our facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and control assigned process areas within defined operating conditions.
• Perform equipment start‑up, shutdown, isolation and routine housekeeping.
• Sample and analyse process variables to support quality improvements.
• Report deviations, participate in investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with mentors and senior leaders to track progress and development.

Required profile

• ABSA Power Engineering Certificate of Competency (3rd or 4th Class) preferred.
• Diploma in Engineering Technology or a comparable field.
• Minimum 5 years of facility operations experience.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and self‑motivation.
• Ability to plan, schedule and complete routine tasks responsibly.
