Process Engineering Specialist – Manufacturing

About the role

Ford of Canada is seeking a Process Engineering Specialist to support machining operations at the Windsor/Essex Engine Plant. You will apply engineering principles to improve safety, quality, and productivity while ensuring compliance with corporate and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Support manufacturing process engineering for machining departments.
• Review CMM reports, interpret GD&T, and make quality offsets to CNC machines.
• Conduct tooling trials, capability studies, and minor NC programming changes.
• Lead continuous‑improvement initiatives in safety, quality, and productivity.
• Develop action plans for quality concerns and verify corrective actions.
• Perform process audits and create instruction sheets for quality methods.
• Drive variability reduction, lean manufacturing, and ISO 14001 compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• 3‑5 years hands‑on shop‑floor engineering experience.
• 2+ years experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Familiarity with 8D and 5‑Why corrective‑action processes.

Required skills

• CMM and GD&T interpretation.
• CNC machining and quality offset adjustments.
• NC programming for minor machining changes.
• Lean Manufacturing tools and Six Sigma techniques.
• Process auditing and ISO 14001 compliance.
