About the role

St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Schools is seeking a probationary full‑time Educational Assistant for Sacred Heart School in Wetaskiwin, Alberta, starting August 28, 2026. The role focuses on supporting junior and senior high school students with complex needs, helping them achieve academic success.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with teachers and staff to implement individualized support plans.
• Assist students with exceptional abilities or medical needs in classroom and extracurricular activities.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure confidentiality of student information.
• Monitor student progress and report observations to the teaching team.
• Promote a safe and inclusive learning environment.

Required profile

• Dependable, trustworthy, and able to maintain confidentiality.
• Experience working with students who have special abilities or medical requirements (preferred).
• Experience in a school setting is an asset.
• Willingness to undergo a recent Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector Check, and Alberta Children’s Intervention Record Check.
