Primary Care Physician – Part‑Time Contract

About the role

The Baawaating Family Health Team is seeking a motivated Primary Care Physician to join its interdisciplinary team on the Batchewana First Nation. You will deliver client‑centered primary care, health promotion, and education within a culturally safe environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive physician services to individuals, families, and the community.
• Collaborate with nurses, allied health professionals, and traditional healers to coordinate care.
• Focus on health promotion, disease prevention, and client education.
• Maintain accurate electronic medical records and adhere to clinical guidelines.
• Travel as needed to support community health initiatives and respond to urgent care needs.

Required profile

• Medical degree and rotating internship from a recognized university.
• Active licence with the Ontario College of Physicians and Surgeons.
• Experience in primary health care; First Nation community experience is an asset.
• Understanding of Indigenous health issues and cultural values.
• Valid Ontario driver’s licence, personal vehicle, and clear criminal reference check.
