Primary Care Physician – Family Medicine

About the role

Calian is seeking Primary Care Physicians to join the Canadian Forces Health Services Centre Ottawa at Montfort Hospital. Both full‑time and part‑time schedules are available, offering a stable environment to deliver comprehensive primary health care to Canadian Armed Forces members.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct medical fitness assessments for duty, including pre‑ and post‑deployment, periodic health assessments, recruiting medicals, and hazardous occupation evaluations.
• Diagnose and treat occupational and environmental injuries and illnesses, providing rehabilitation as needed.
• Establish Medical Employment Limitations, approve sick leave, and recommend changes in medical category according to policy.
• Maintain occupational health records using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
• Provide primary medical care for acute and chronic conditions and coordinate referrals to specialists when required.

Required profile

• Provincial medical licence in the province of practice.
• Certification in Family Medicine with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CCFP).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR/AED Level C certification.
• Bilingual proficiency in French and English.
• Minimum of 1 year full‑time equivalent experience in ambulatory primary care, occupational medicine, urgent care or emergency medicine.
